Os tempos mudam | Times are changing

- Pronto Marcos, as pessoas já chegaram e já estão instaladas. Tu, por favor, vai dando uma vista de olhos ao que se passa ali. A mim ensinaram-me a rezar de joelhos na pedra fria, em jejum, em frente ao altar e de terço na mão. Estes garotos de agora, instalam-se em almofadões e ouvem melodias orientais à luz das velas e dizem que isso também é rezar. Ou estou a ficar velho ou já não percebo nada disto!

Ah e verifica por favor se aquela gente não se deixa dormir e incendeia a nossa bela igreja. Teria uma certa graça, uma actividade de animação da fé acabar em chamas!

 

- That's it Marcos, people arrived and are already settled in. If you please, check out what are they doing over there. I was taught to pray on bended knees in the cold stone, in front of the altar, with a rosary between hands. Nowadays, these kids sit down in those enourmous pillows and listen to oriental melodies at candle light and say that is praying too. Or am i too old, or i cannot understand things anymore!

And please check if they don't fall asleep and those candles don't start a fire in our beautiful church. It would be funny if a praying day ended up in flames!!!
