Peixe fresco | Fresh fish

A noite foi cansativa, mas produtiva! Os últimos dias de Verão tornam a faina mais fácil, com o céu estrelado, tempo ameno e mar calmo. A época da sardinha mais gordinha e saborosa está prestes a terminar e não tarda estarão aí dias mais frescos, ideiais para a corvina ou o espadarte.


Por hoje a faina está quase completa. Falta descarregar tudo na lota, dar uma última limpeza ao convés para deixar tudo pronto para amanhã e ir finalmente o tão necessário e merecido descanso!


 


The night was exausting but productive! These last summer days turn this fishing job easier, as the sky is starry, tje weather warm and the sea is calm. The season of the faty and tasty sardines is ending, and soon the days will be cooler ideal to the croaker or the sword fish.


Today's journey is almost completed. Only thing left to do is unload all at the fish market and give a last clean at the deck, so everything is ready for tomorrow. And then, the much needed and deserved rest.

  Estas figuras chegaram da Alemanha há algum tempo. Acho-as lindas, mas de facto ainda não as tinha fotografado, nem tinha ainda uma ideia de que história haveria de sair. Por isso, foram ficando pra trás... até agora !  These figures arrived from Germany some time ago. I think they're beautiful, but I hadn't actually photographed them yet, nor did I have any idea what story would come out of it. So, they kept getting pushed aside... until now !

  Um segue a bordo como passageiro. Vai visitar os avós que não conhece numa terra longínqua. O outro não tem outro remédio senão acompanhar o pai, tripulante do navio, pois não tem nem família nem morada certa, onde ficar. São as únicas crianças a bordo, por isso, é natural que se tenham entendido rapidamente. Entretém-se com o que podem, procurando não atrapalhar as manobras de navegação, brincando ao que conseguem, com o que têm à mão.  A tripulação ora os enxota quando há mais para fazer, ora se enche de uma infinita paciência e lhes vai ensinando nós, a coser velas, ou a pescar, quando as tarefas a bordo o permitem. Mas o que eles querem mesmo é subir ao cesto da gávea e isso ainda não conseguiram convencer ninguém a fazer. Esperam convencer o capitão a deixá-los subir, num dia em que o vento sopre manso e o mar esteja de feição! One is on board as a passenger. He's going to visit the grandparents he doesn't know in a faraway land. The other has no choice but to accompany...

Making of #52

Há fotografias que nem sempre correm bem. Esta tinha tudo para dar certo: um bobo da corte e um castelo, mas o enquadramento não saiu bem e lá se foi a história que já estava a imaginar na minha cabeça. E depois há aquelas que até resultam e que conseguimos concretizar a história que imaginámos !    Some photographs just don't always turn out well. This one had everything going for it: a court jester and a castle, but the framing wasn't right, and there went the story I was imagining in my head. And then there are those that actually work, and we manage to bring to life the story we imagined !
